Avery Sunshine

Avery Sunshine is an enigmatic singer, composer and performer. He combines soul gospel jazz and R&B to create a unique blend. Avery Sunshine's work has led her from Broadway to European events and clubs, to even the Democratic National Convention. Sunshine is a name that she has given her was Denise White. She is now a resident of Atlanta the place she was raised is Chester Pennsylvania. Her musical path began at church where she sang and played piano. Following her graduation from Spellman College, Atlanta she embarked on her journey of music in the Atlanta's R&B musical scene. The Fighting Temptations The single that featured her vocals,"Stalk You a House 12, was only released in Japan. The song has been remixed numerous times and is the mainstay of her live show. The voice of hers was featured on the soundtrack for The Fighting Temptations. In 2005 she took on the role of the pianist in Tyler Perry's stage production Meet the Browns. Jennifer Holliday, a Grammy as well as Tony Award winning vocalist who had worked on the stage production Dreamgirls at the National Black Arts Festival of Atlanta in 2007, contacted her to be the choir leader of the production. Sunshine was the subject of national media attention due to her several performances throughout the Democratic National Convention in 2008. Sunshine was invited to perform at President Barack Obama's inauguration ceremony in 2009.
